About us

Somorah's Sanity is not one person, but three.  Naomi Lea, LadybytheSea, and Acacia Faye.  Our mission is to challenge each other to develop our creative abilities through writing and to encourage others to do the same by sharing our words via this blog.

Acacia Faye: Saxophones, guitars, fried chicken, black diamonds, Jesus Christ, pedicures, horses, pigmy goats, shipping container houses, Pinterest.

Our Favorite Books:

Naomi Lea: The Bible, anything by C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, Freckles by Jean Stratton Porter, Animorphs: The Andalite Series by K.A. Applegate, Matilda by Roald Dahl, ...to be continued...

Acacia Faye: The Pharaoh's Daughter, Redeeming Love, and Blue like Jazz.
Our answers to the question, "If you were a cannibal, what would you wear to dinner?"

Naomi Lea: I don't think I would wear anything for two primary reasons:

1. Blood stains are ridiculously difficult to get out of one's clothes. It would be easier to savagely feast in the most carnal state if I've somehow been driven to such habits, and just shower off the gore.

2. Being naked is much more comfortable than being clothed.

LadybytheSea: Nothing. If I'm a cannibal I've already lost my mind why not my clothes too.

Acacia Faye: A dress with flowers on it, because if I am going to eat a person, I'm going to do it with all the beauty of springtime.

What's your favorite Bible verse?

Naomi Lea:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

and...

Matthew 6:25-27 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

LadybytheSea:

John 7:53-8-11  "Then they all went home, but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Acacia Faye:

Luke 11:5-10  "Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity[e] he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

and...

Esther 4:16  “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

and...

Genesis 1:20-27  "And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them,"
