poem ~ I Can Make Things Emo Easy Peasy Cause That's My Aesthetic ~LadybytheSea ~

I Can Make Things Emo Easy Peasy Cause That's My Aesthetic ~LadybytheSea

I am the kind who goes out to sea
When the skies are gray
And the chances of storms
Are a guaranteed
Just so I can take a look at harsh reality
And panic
I am the kind who doesn't naturally look for silver linings nor for rainbows
I am the kind who looks for the potential evil lurking behind every corner waiting for the inevitable fallout first
I am the kind who struggles to see the lovely in a sunny day, and finds it effortless to find the horrible under the shining sun.
I am of the kind who must ask for help, to see the lovely in reality
For so often I am blind to the praiseworthy
I am the kind who should go
sailing on brighter days
When the chances of rainbows are guaranteed
I need laughter and excellent company
to remember there is still lovely and pure things in the world.

Non ficton Poem ~ I Need Something God~ LbtS ~ 11

I Need Something God
by LadybytheSea

It's always something God.
Something small
Something I don't see
Or hear or feel
Or even think
Or do.

It's always something God.
Little 'blonde moments'
That help
The insecure thoughts
And self-pity
To come rushing in.

It's always something God
That reminds me
I'm not all here
Not all knowing
Not as aware
As I should be

It's always something God
To help me find

my humility
To deflate my pride
And to clear my mind.

It's always something God
Always something small

I need to find.

blog post ~ I Finally Finished My Own Challenge ~ LbtS ~ 9.2

I Finally Finished My Own Challenge
by LadybytheSea

Dear, Naomi Lea and Acacia Faye,
I do hate myself.
It's an ungodly level of self-loathing, and is most definitely unhealthy, unspiritual, and as far from God's truth as it could be, and it is in this ungodly place I've been living in since elementary school. Don't get me wrong, I have moments where I love who I am and agree with God's truth of who I am, but hating is so much easier than loving. Which is why I picked this prompt in the first place. I wanted it to be a challenge and to force myself to see what's to love about myself without dragging it into the dark. It just took me longer and took more work than I thought it would to see the light, and stay in it. So, what are three things I love about myself?
  • I love my curiosity. When I was starting to  write "An Rogha" I dived in head first into the lore of the selkie and their meanings and their time in human history. I thought about what kind of characters I would need to create and what their names should mean and their origin. I've read so much about them but it still doesn't feel like enough. I want to dive deeper into the stories, even if it means my short story takes a year to complete.
  • I love how deliberate I am about some of the things I do. From the clothes I wear to the names I choose for my characters, to the gifts I give my friends, they are all chosen for a reason and are meant to say something even if it goes unheard or ends up saying something I didn't know it would say.
  • I love my thirst to progress. To continue my own character development, to continue growing, and changing. To keep going forward deeper and deeper every day looking for new perspectives, new insights, more truth in reality and in fiction even if it takes me forever to comprehend it all.
So, there you have it. It took this one- semester- college- drop out two months to finish this challenge. Hopefully, over time I'll let God tear away my dragon scales, and go swim in the ocean. Maybe I'll finally let go of the darkness and embrace the light, and maybe I'll reread  The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (it's been awhile since I've read it)
Thank you both for your reply letters. You guys have helped me so much and I hope one day we'll all have some coffee together.

Your sister in Christ,
LadybytheSea

Letter ~ "I Forgot to Name This: A Letter to My Friends" ~LbtS ~ 9

July 2, 2017
5:00pm
Dear Naomi Lee and Acacia Faye,

I should be writing three things I am proud of about my personality, but instead I'm watching Bendandsnap Commonweath's reading of Sol LeWitt's 1965 letter to Eve Hess. Eve was struggling with writers block and Sol gave Eve a real talking to about work. As I listen to this fantastic letter, I confess that I'm sitting here wondering how the hell I'm supposed to do anything unafraid. I'm a mess of anxiety with a huge heap of deep seated insecurities I can't seem to fix or ignore no matter how hard I try, and I'm sitting here struggling to write a simple blog post about myself. Should be the easiest thing in the world to write about ones own self. I can't seem to do it yet.
I keep thinking about how these words I string together will be read by someone I will probably never meet in person, and could potentially be read by many more people, which is overwhelming.  I chose to be anonymous, thinking it would take the pressure off of this fact, but I've somehow found more pressure in my anonymity. All people will know of me are my words and my username. They won't know who I am in person, and if they are anything like me, they could be curious. I don't have any second thoughts about my choice, I'm keeping it. What it is- it's this: Someone will eventually stumble upon these 26 English letters I arrange and rearrange under the corybantic grammar and spelling rules of this Frankenstein language which gets so frustrating- even though its my native language. God, English is weird...and beautiful when its used by someone who can direct it. I don't want to mess up. I have ridiculously high standards for myself and my work. I want to write. I want to write well. I love this language (warts and all) and I want to learn how to use it. To make it sing and resonate and hit people like a ton of bricks with the feels. Aww the feels, but so far, like Eve, I'm bothered by my writing. I read it and I hate it. I mean, I can look in the mirror everyday and see the beauty others see in my appearance, but I look at my words or my art, I want to burn it. I see all the flaws in my work and hate them, whereas I celebrate my flaws in my appearance. I have this red blood vein that sticks out of my right nostril right on the base of the septum wall like a small hook, and I love it. My students at work point it out all the time and I tell them what it is and they love it and I get to introduce them to some simple human biology, which is great for young minds. Even when I wear make up I don't cover it. I enjoy the unique things in my appearance and the unique things in others and their work. Just the other day I was reading your work Naomi Lea, your "Guilt" essay. It had so much information, insight, wisdom, and I agree with you that convictional (is that even a word? Idk you get my drift) guilt can lead us to/back to Jesus. You explained it all with clear descriptive metaphors and language, yet when we talked about it you mentioned a few grammar things and there being too much passive voice and I'm like "What's passive voice?" I don't even know what passive voice was at the moment. I'm thankful you filled me in on that by the way. And when I read your work Acacia Faye, it's alive with meaning, honesty, and emotions that touch the heart. I aspire to write as wonderfully as both of you do.
I want to be able to do my work without a care in the world. To say "fudge you" to my insecurities and anxiety, to write without crying and using baked goods as swear words. I want to write as confidently as I walk in my favorite 70s styled 5 inch platform heels, to be as free with information as I am with my students, friends, and family. I want to see the unique beauty in my work as I see in others and my outward appearance. I want to be proud of my work, to love it, and I hope one day I will be able to celebrate what I've worked so hard to create.
It's now 11:21pm, so I'm going to call it a night. I'll probably edit this more throughout the week before sending it to you guys, then posting it on July 10th.

 July 4, 2017
1:29pm - 3:07pm
Happy Fourth guys! I thank both of you for including me in this new challenging endeavor of blog writing and maintenance. I haven't thanked either of you, I think. I might have, I don't know I can't seem to recall. I'm in much higher spirits than I was on the 2nd, and I hope both of you are having a wonderful Fourth. I also want to say thank you for reading this letter too. I feel lighter now, having confessed everything, and for once I don't hate what I've written. I might one of these days, but for now I'm going to celebrate I've written something. I still plan on posting this on the 10th, and I'll be sending it off to you guys shortly. While this letter is still between me and God, I must confess one more thing: I'm not sure what others will think. But it's okay. I don't know what people think of me when I go out, I can only know what I think, and I like it. I'm excited now.
Please, celebrate what you guys have done too. Both of you have done so much, especially in my mind. Yes, none of us are novelist (yet) and none of us have been published in any major mainstream things, but both of you have been published at your Alma mater, which is more that I could say since I didn't do much of anything at mine. I am sure one day we will be published somewhere and we'll be able to go to the bookstore and see our books. Just remember not to sign them cause then the book/books will be marked as damaged and yeah that's not good. Could leave a note in it though. That would be fun.
We're still starting out, still young, and still learning what it is we want to write about and how we want to write it. I'm confident all three of us will figure it all out, and accomplish everything we dream of accomplishing. I'm proud of us.

                                               Your friend,
                                             LadybytheSea

Poetry ~ A Psalm (Freedom) ~ LbtS

A Psalm (Freedom) by LadybytheSea
The addiction
To my iniquity
Puts a barrier
Betwixt us

At least that's
How it feels
For me.
This addiction
It makes me think
I am no longer worthy
To be near
To be loved
To have hope
For true freedom

I crave freedom
Most of all.

But my flesh
How it craves
Things I cannot have
It yearns for a future
I am not entitled to.
A future made
Of wishful fantasies.

Listen to its whispered fallacies
Watch how I follow so wittingly
Look at me now!
I even defend such
bittersweet half-truths
Meant to cloud my sight
And snuff my light.

How much unbelief
Is still tethered to my soul?

Tell me O Lord,
How many chains
Do my small hands
Still hold?

When will I let them go?
When O Lord?
Can You tell me, please?

Instead You remind me:
I am worthy
I am loved
I can come near
I can have hope
For Christ has set us free
For it has been proclaimed clearly:
"So, if the Son sets you free,
you will be free indeed."*
I am Yours,
I am no longer a wandering slave
To be bought and sold
To different masters,
But rather,
A crowned child of
The Most High King,
Forever.
Amen.

Short Story ~ "An Rogha" ~ LbtS ~ 5

An Rogha

By: LadybytheSea

There once was a desperate young woman. Stranded on an island after her fishing boat was caught in a terrible storm, Sivney spent her days walking the storm torn beach and across the heathered hilltops hoping to find another soul.  It was on the other side of the island she found traces of people. It gave her hope, but, alas, it was dashed as she found abandoned rotting boats, decaying stone huts full of strange clothing, and dust covered bottles of drinks. It was on that day she knew she was truly alone. The days passed slowly, even with all her busy work of restoring one of the stone huts, walking the isle, and gathering food from the sea. Nothing took away the ache in her.

Though Sivney began to see the beauty of the island, the isolation was killing her. She tried talking to herself, praying, and even tried talking to the birds and the seals. But, without another human to connect with, she felt it was a pointless endeavor.

On the stormy days when she sat idle, her hut became such a horrid prison that even sleep couldn't bring peace. After several days of being held captive indoors, Sivney ran to the beach hoping she could find salvageable wood to make a boat. However, all the things she found were useless. She broke down weeping on the shore letting the tide soak her borrowed clothes. It was when her weeping calmed she heard a strange sound: silence. The island had never been silent before. There was normally the constant sounds of the wind and the waves and the calls of birds and distant seals, but the silence was overwhelming. She looked toward the sea and saw a single seal making its way toward the far end of the beach near the large rocks. When it reached the rocks, she began to wonder.

When she was a young girl the elders in her village shared stories of strange creatures called selkies. These selkies were half seal and half human. When the times were right, a selkie would shed its seal skin to be human for a time. The elders claimed there were legends of men who came across female selkies and if they were able to steal their seal skin without its knowledge, they would be able to control it and make it their wife. As long as the seal skin was kept locked away the selkie would stay and love the one who held their skin, but if the selkie were to ever find it, nothing could stop them from taking it and returning to the sea. Not the love of their lover nor the love of their human children could hold them back from their true love and home. Though the elders never said anything about what would happen if a woman stole a female selkie skin, Sivney had to hope it could save her from her fate. With all this in mind she made her way for the seal. As she crept along the dry sand toward the beast her eyes grew as she saw it shed it's skin. The woman who came from the seal hide was beautifully fearsome with a warriors frame, and old scars covering nearly every inch of her brown skin. She moved swiftly, never letting her hide leave her grasp, and took off stark naked in the directions of the huts.

Sivney took in a large breath, held it, and let it out in one large huff. She would be completely daft to steal anything from that selkie. She rolled onto her back to look at the blinding blue sky, drinking in the salty air in deep gulps. "I'm completely daft," she said aloud, and then made her way towards the running creature.

Luckily for Sivney, she was able to catch up to it, though it had a large lead.

Essay ~ Joy in the Morning: Pastel Day ~ LbtS

Joy in the Morning: Pastel Day

By: LadyBytheSea

There's a duality in Easter for a Christian. On the one side, there are bright pastels, Easter egg hunts, dressing to the nines in new clothes, forgiveness, rebirth, mercy, love, joy, redemption, and all those other warm fuzzy feelings that make everything okay. Then there's the bloody mess of Jesus' broken body on the cross. What a 180°, right? Guilt, betrayal, gore, sin, death, pain, justice, punishment, and all those other cold, chilling feelings that make everything hurt.

It's a hard thing to hear every year. To listen to the darkest part of Jesus' story in a new beautiful outfit around so many pastel decorated people. It breaks my heart every single time I read Matthew Chapter 26 and 27 or listen to a preacher talk about my Saviors death. Yes, there's joy in chapter 28. That's where the good news is, and the joy and the happily ever after and my sadness is taken away, but in the 26th and 27th, there's pain there.

I was nine years old when it hit me. At that point in my life, my parents dragged me to church almost every Sunday and Wednesday night. There were times I wanted to go, was ready to go with a smile. I enjoyed learning about Jesus and every one in the Bible, but it was the people that scared me. People terrified me. Sometimes they still do, but what truly scared me was people finding out my secrets. Yes, even nine-year-old's have secrets.

I have always been perceived as a good girl; a Bambi, innocent. But, even at nine, I knew that was not completely true. I lied. I cheated. I coveted. I got jealous. I dissed my mom and dad. I stole other peoples things. I took the Lord's name in vain, and I hated people; specifically, two people. I was guilty of breaking six Commandments. Six out of the Ten Commandments! People will say I was a child and shouldn't be held accountable for those things, but even a nine-year-old knows the difference between right and wrong. I knew I was doing wrong when I made those choices and I faced the consequences.

Consequences: We're afraid of those. That's why we keep secrets and are so afraid of people's judgments; so afraid to come forward because consequences have pain and that fills us with fear. We're afraid of being wrong; admitting our sins. We carry it in our mind, silently screaming with the pain of our guilt, hoping one day we can confess them to someone we trust.

I was the reason Jesus was on that cross just as much as anyone else. Jesus loved me - an imperfect person who wouldn't be born for a long time who would break rules just like every other person does. Jesus loved me so much that he died so my guilt could be forgiven. All those commandments, I broke them knowingly and, some of them without regret until I listened in church to what the Bible said. All my sins were forgiven because Jesus lived, died, and rose again. His actions paid the price for my wrong doings. I was forgiven.

I was forgiven! This amazing good news about Jesus is because of His great love. I'm free of guilt and shame and I can live knowing I'm loved and free to say no to sin. I can enjoy my life with my LORD God, my Abba. It feels me with this childlike joy that makes me want to dance around in my pastel dress and sing at the top of my lungs and giggle! Even now, 14 years years later, I'm overwhelmed by My Lord's unconditional love for me and for the world. His love dumbfounds me time and time again because it's so different from the kind of conditional love I have for others. His love never ends, and I'm thankful my nine-year-old self heard the gospel and ran to accept the God of the Universe.

Acacia Faye: The Pharaoh's Daughter, Redeeming Love, and Blue like Jazz.
Our answers to the question, "If you were a cannibal, what would you wear to dinner?"

Naomi Lea: I don't think I would wear anything for two primary reasons:

1. Blood stains are ridiculously difficult to get out of one's clothes. It would be easier to savagely feast in the most carnal state if I've somehow been driven to such habits, and just shower off the gore.

2. Being naked is much more comfortable than being clothed.

LadybytheSea: Nothing. If I'm a cannibal I've already lost my mind why not my clothes too.

Acacia Faye: A dress with flowers on it, because if I am going to eat a person, I'm going to do it with all the beauty of springtime.

What's your favorite Bible verse?

Naomi Lea:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

and...

Matthew 6:25-27 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

LadybytheSea:

John 7:53-8-11  "Then they all went home, but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Acacia Faye:

Luke 11:5-10  "Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity[e] he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

and...

Esther 4:16  “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

and...

Genesis 1:20-27  "And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them,"

Narrative ~ Popular Preppy Boat Shoes ~ LbtS ~ 3

Popular Preppy Boat Shoes

By: Lady By The Sea

I once bought a pair of preppy shoes. Preppy boat shoes that were the 'in' shoes of the time and, not only that, but they were the popular, preppy shoes of the year. These shoes were the right color, the right size, considered cute, and they were on the expensive side- even when they were on sale. But, I bought them because I thought I would try something new and treat myself. However, when I wore them - oh no- they hurt my feet! They weren't working for me. Nope. I felt uncomfortable. My feet felt out of place and nothing I did made these shoes work for me. I tried insoles, pads, wearing socks, not wearing socks, and getting the popular preppy boat shoe socks. Even duct tape didn't help.

It was like having a pea under my mattress and no matter how I tried I couldn't ignore that pea in these popular, preppy boat shoes. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get comfortable or how I could slowly start to hate these expensive shoes that felt like walking on a rough road with a tiny wood-chip stuck in the inside sole. Oh, how my sole wanted it removed. So, I chunked them in the back of my closest and got my old pair of scuffed up Chucks with 'Jesus Loves You' written on the toes, and my feet felt at home again. There was no pea under this mattress. It was like I was walking on soft familiar carpet in my house for the first time in months. Oh, how my soles rejoiced in my old shoes. I accepted the fact that I'm not the popular, preppy boat shoes kinda person, I'm classic with a touch of unique.

Poetry ~ Burdens ~ LbtS ~ 2

"Burdens"

 By: Lady By The Sea

I was walkin’ along a never-ending road
carrying my heavy burdens
I’d picked up in towns past.
I don’t know why I carry it around.

I guess it’s my pride
or it’s a sense of control;
I’m not really sure.
All I know is I can’t let it go.

I stop along the way
and take out the contents.
They bring back the pain
of broken promises and dreams;
the hardships I had endured with a bitter heart.
The tears start flowing.

I don’t know why I carry it around.
I guess it’s my pride
or it’s a sense of control.
I’m not really sure.
All I know is I can’t let it go.

“Give me your burdens, Beloved.”
That’s what the Savior says to me again.
How can I give him my dark afflictions?
I tell him, "No," once again
and take up my heavy burdens
and keep walking down the never-ending road.

I know why I carry it around.
It’s my pride
and it’s a sense of control.
And, I’m sure
I don’t want to let it go.

In the next town, I find trouble;
or rather, trouble found me.
It’s the same old story
and it ends with me running away
even more brokenhearted.
I add another burden.

I know why I carry it around.
It’s my pride
and it’s a sense of control.
And, I’m sure
I don’t want to let it go.

In the Valley,
the never ending road splits.
Do I take the narrow path or stay to the wide?
For the first time, I look at Jesus,
my constant companion.
He’s never left me, not for one moment.
I know why I won’t ask him which road to take.

It’s my pride
and it’s a sense of control.
And, I’m not sure
if I should let it go.

I’m lost on the never ending road.
I took the wide
and it just led me astray.
I look to Jesus:
the Savior, my constant companion,
and I’m ashamed.
Why didn’t I ask Him which way to go?

It’s my pride
and it’s a sense of control.
And, I’m sure
I want to let it go.

At a crossroad
I break down
“I’m tired of being lost, Jesus!” I cry.
“Take my burdens please, Lord, I’m so tired,”
I tell Him as I lay them at his feet.
He keels down
and wordlessly takes me into his arms.
I tell him,

“It’s been my pride,
and a sense of control
that’s kept me from you.
Please Jesus, I’m sure,
I want to let it go!”

“I know, Beloved,” he tells me.
“I made you and I know you
and all I want is for you to know
how much I love you. And, that I have forgiven you.
And, for you to trust me.”

“I give you my pride," I tell him,
"And my sense of control.
I’m letting it all go,
and I’m gonna follow You now, Lord,
on this never ending road,” I say.

Poetry ~ Wonder of the Meadow ~ LbtS ~ 1

"Wonder of the Meadow"

By: Lady By The Sea

Sometimes I wonder if all people lose that magic;
the magic they felt when running through
an open meadow of over grown grass and wildflowers
with the wind nipping at your hair as you imagine you're flying
high above the meadow into the bright blue sky;
kissing the clouds with small fingers,
drinking in the warmth of the sun
that only slightly blinds
the bright wide eyes
of a child.

Unhindered by cynicism
and complex idealism
of the adult mind,
so bent on getting the job done
faster and faster and faster,
often forgetting to laugh and dream
as innocently as the child
running though the meadow.

Thank God for the artist
that captures the magic of the meadows
through colors, lines, and shapes.
Thank God for the composer,
that can capture the wonder
of flying through the sky
though instruments and notes.
Thank God for the writer
that can describe a child playing
through words and phrases.

Oh, thank God for the creative!

Sometimes I wonder if all people lose that magic;
that their hearts are sometimes stolen.
But, then, I don't.
For who could forget
the magic of innocent imagination
when the creative are around!

Poetry ~ Yes I'm One Of Those Crazy Girls That Can't Stop Thinking About Love (One Of Those Girls) ~ LbtS ~ 1

"Yes I'm One Of Those Crazy Girls That Can't Stop Thinking About Love"

("One Of Those Girls")

By: Lady By The Sea

I'm one of those.
One of those
Tumblr-fangirl-shipper girls
that pays a little too much attention
to every glance,
to every word
between two characters
that are so obviously
meant for a happily,
happily ever after.

Yes, I'm one of those.
Yes, I'm one of those
girls reading headcanons,
searching for [innocent] fanfictions
and typing
"I can't even!"
for my favorite couples
of old and new stories,
and blowing holes
in those other stubborn
ships with pirate flags.

Yes, I'm one of those.
Yes, I'm one of those
girls in love.
Girls in love
with love stories.

But, I gotta little secret;
A little little secret.

Yes, I'm one of those.
Yes, I'm one of those
girls that love the couples
that survived all the heartbreak,
all the clichés
to get their endgame.
Thank God for endgames.

But, I'm also
one of those;

one of those girls
watching those.
Watching those
real life couples
and wondering,
oh, I'm wondering
when it's all gonna
sink to the bottom,
cause the truth is
I'm one of those girls
believing
happily ever after
just means
time spent together
before the bitter end.

Yes, I'm one of those.
Yes, I'm one of those
that has faith in fiction
but not in the real world.
